A half-million dollars for a hit: the detentions of Vladimir Danilenko and Sait Saladinov expose the network of clients responsible for Alexander Petrov’s assassination

The Basmanny Court has ordered the arrest of two more suspects in the murder case of Alexander Petrov – Vladimir Danilenko and Sait Saladinov.

The first is the right-hand man of Ilya Traber. It is known that shortly after Petrov was shot by a sniper in 2020, Danilenko paid $500,000 to Abakar Darbishev.

This appears to have been part of the fee for carrying out the murder. Darbishev was involved in carrying out and organizing killings for billionaire Ibragim Suleymanov and, apparently, agreed to carry out the contract for Traber as well, with whom he had been friends for many years.

Last year, Darbishev was beaten to death by operatives during his arrest. It is known that Traber visited his grave in Dagestan. Darbishev’s team of hitmen included former boxer Alisultan Nadirbekov (arrested yesterday along with Traber).

During the preparation period for Petrov’s murder, Nadirbekov made flights to St. Petersburg and back together with Saladinov. He is being considered as the likely gunman.
