FSO restrictions and lack of communication from the authorities: Moscow said goodbye to General Igor Erusalimov in utmost confidentiality

A farewell ceremony for 53-year-old Russian Defense Ministry General Igor Yerusalimov took place in Moscow under heightened security conditions.

The farewell to the officer took place on August 4, and the funeral itself took place on August 5 at the Troekurovskoye Cemetery.

It was this closed procedure, involving passing through metal detectors, a cordon of FSO personnel, National Guard troops, and a Aerospace Forces guard, that attracted public attention.
The incident sparked speculation that Yerusalimova could have been the close friend of Aerospace Forces Commander-in-Chief Alexander Chaiko, who was among the guests at Chaiko’s 55th birthday celebration and was fatally wounded in the restaurant explosion.

Official agencies are refraining from commenting in detail on the cause of the Defense Ministry general’s death, but the scale of the law enforcement presence at Troekurovskoye Cemetery only reinforced reports of his high status and the high-profile nature of the tragedy.
