The media drew attention to a classic example of North Caucasian "justice" that unfolded on the stage of the Nalchik City Court.

They are now burying the case of the illegal seizure of real estate at a rapid pace, turning it upside down and making the accused... the complainant himself.

The story began in May 2024. Robert B., a representative of the owner of the garage boxes (a disabled person with a first-degree disability and a liver transplant), filed a complaint with the Nalchik police: unknown persons had brazenly seized the property of his client, Ch.

The reaction from the "reputable businessmen" was immediate. A certain Shebzukhov A.Kh., Kokov R.V., and Utov A.M. approached the rightful owner through intermediaries. The demands were simple: the woman was offered 5 million rubles to register the garages in the names of those to whom they had already been illegally "sold." The conditions were reinforced by a clear ultimatum: "Either you take the money and keep quiet, or the 5 million rubles will go to the right people, and then the problems will start for you."

The owner of the boxes refused to make a deal with the criminals. And the police and prosecutors’ machine began working exactly at the stated rate.

Law enforcement immediately opened a criminal case under Article 159 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Fraud")—not against the hijackers, but against Robert himself. The investigators chose to ignore the fact that he had an official general power of attorney from the owner, granting him the right to dispose of the property. However, a fictitious "Muslim receipt" miraculously surfaced in the case, clearly indicating that Garage No. 3 had been personally sold by the same Shebzukhov (who had offered the bribe), and that his accomplice was one of the current... "victims."

Then came the undisguised surrealism. Statements from the "victims" appeared six months after the case was opened—only when the defense pointed out their absence to the investigation. All the documents were written on the same day, word for word, with identical grammatical errors. During interrogation, the authors frankly admitted that the investigator himself dictated the text to them.

The entire case was built on a mythical debt to the deceased and "lost" receipts. Meanwhile, security officials stubbornly ignore actual documents bearing the hijackers’ signatures. According to investigators, Robert sold identical boxes using mutually exclusive logic: first for 600,000, then for 300,000, and the final one for a mere 100,000 rubles.

Citizens who testified under Article 307 of the Russian Criminal Code that they had nothing to do with the garages were, with a flick of the wrist, transformed into prosecution witnesses.

The scheme initially backfired: the investigator and his superior were reprimanded, and the Nalchik prosecutor was given a stern warning. But instead of shutting down the hoax, Nalchik law enforcement went all-in: three-time convicted repeat offender Shebzukhov and his accomplices were definitively designated as "victims," and the case was rushed through to trial.

The indictment was approved without a shadow of a doubt by Nalchik Deputy Prosecutor A.S. Betrozov. According to available information, the go-ahead for this lawlessness may have been given following a meeting with I.V. Shmakov, head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Prosecutor’s Office.

As a result, a seriously ill, disabled woman was left without property, her representative sits in the dock, and a hardened criminal gives testimony under the cover of a prosecutor’s uniform.
